Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Leamington
To the person or people who dumped a couch by one of the bridges at Hillman Marsh you make me sick. Shame on you. There is no excuse for it. You can put your large garbage out to the curb on garbage day and it will be picked up free of charge. No need to call. No need to pay and especially no need to dump your trash by a place that should not only be a beautiful place to visit but also a safe place for the animals that call it home.
You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!
My beautiful nine-year-old female microchipped Siamese cat "Snowshoe" has been missing since September 11, 2016 from our home at 93 Riverview Blvd., St. Catharines Ontario. There have been no sightings. She could've been relocated anywhere. If you know someone who has acquired a new Siamese cat with her distinguishing white chin, white tipped front paws and white back legs in the last nine months, please let me know. Any leads are welcomed.
The windy sky was appropriate on this special day as we celebrated the raising of our beautiful Canadian flag (http:/ / www.greatcanadianflag.com). The flag was raised at Dieppe Gardens as many gathered together cheering and applauding. As O' Canada echoed through the crowd, gunshots were fired as a part of Windsors 125th Birthday celebrations. Everyone was filled with such joy watching the amazing addition to our Windsor skyline.
A huge shout out of appreciation to the local high school students who created the gorgeous paintings which now grace the cubicles in the Day Surgery area of Leamington Hospital! They are beautiful, cheerful, and all who enter the doors there are impressed by your talents
As a volunteer in that area, may I also take this opportunity to praise the medical personnel there as well? The nurses I work with there are incredibly kind and professional, and I always look forward to my time there as a volunteer because of them.
Today around 6:30 pm I had to rush my 5 yr old Chocolate Lab Jersey to the vet. Unable to get her out of my Jeep a young man who was walking down John Street saw that I was having a hard time. He kindly lifted her to the ground. She was unable to walk a few steps and would fall down. This young man helped her to the door and carried her up the stairs. I did not get your name but would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. I would really like to find out who you are to thank you personally. You have been spotted!
This is to report to the people of Leamington that there is an ongoing door to door scam. Last weekend I had a person at the door telling me he was from the "Ontario Energy Group" and he had a briefcase with a yellow Energy Guide (the type found on furnaces) sticker on the side of the case. He told me that the government needed them to look at my energy guide on my furnace. I told him to go away and he angrily told me I'd be hearing from them via mail. I then watched the W5 program about this scam and the money people spend because these scammers tell them their furnace is not good anymore or safe anymore and pressure them into new furnaces, etc. Today, in town, there were 2 people going door to door with the same briefcase. The W5 report stated that this "group" claims they are not doing this anymore. Perhaps they've changed their name and continue to scam. They represent themselves as probable government employees. A neighbour was told that they missed the mailing, or accidentally threw it away, and it was really important for their safety to have these people enter their home and check the furnace. He sent them away. Beware and DO NO let anyone into your house when you don't know who they are or why they are there.
